DURDLE DOOR

This is a natural limestone arch found on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset. It is one of the physical features of the area which has kept a name given to it probably more than a 1000 years ago, showing that the coast does not change quickly. The name 'Durdle' is derived from an Old English word 'thirl', meaning to pierce (as in 'nostril'). Part of the 'Shout' video by Tears for Fears was filmed here.
