LEADENHALL MARKET

There is extensive history dating as far back on AD40 on the site where Leadenhall Market stands and at one time it occupied an area bugger than that of Trafalgar Square. The present market was designed by Sir Horace Jones in 1881 with wrought iron and glass replacing the previous stone structure and was extensively restored in 1991. In 2001, it reached immense fame becoming the Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter film, 'Philosopher's Stone'.
