30 ST. MARY AXE
This building, affectionately known as 'The Gherkin' was officially opened at the end of May in 2004. It was commissioned by Swiss Re and built by Foster and Partners. It stands at over 590ft tall and the lounge bar and restaurant is the highest in London. The lens at the very top of the building is the only curved piece of glass used in its construction. |
