THE HAY WAIN

John Constable finished a painting of this scene in 1821. It is an oil on canvas painting and shows a hay wain near Flatford Mill on the River Stour, Suffolk. The house belonged to Willy Lott, who was said to have been born in the house and never left it for more than four days in his lifetime. The painting is currently exhibited at the National Gallery, London.
