TREBLE BROWN SPOT
Idaea trigeminata

This moth occurs locally in the southern areas of England and Wales, found around woodland edges and hedgerows. The adults are on the wing from May to July with a partial second brood in August. They have a wingspan of 23-25mm and the caterpillars feed on ivy, knotgrass and other low-growing herbaceous plants. This image was included in a Portsmouth newspaper, The News, details of which can be found here.
